General Conference – April 2020 – Sunday Morning Session
Sunday Morning Session
Ronald A. Rasband
Moroni saw our day. He prepared Joseph Smith for his ministry, including the translation of The Book of Mormon. Other prophets foretold of our day. We have 168 temples dotting the earth. We are the people charged with ushering in the second coming of Jesus Christ. We are to gather God’s children. The greatest challenge, the greatest cause, and the greatest work on the earth today. We are one people. In the last days, nations shall flow into the mountain of the Lord’s house. We must be prepared in heart and mind, worthy to receive Him.
Bonnie H. Cordon
Let your light so shine before this people that they may see your good works and glorify your Father which art in heaven. I need to see the path. I need the light to see where I’m walking. Focus our light so others may see the way to Christ. The Lord will help our light shine.
Jeffrey R. Holland
Jesus is the Christ. Such hopes would not have been in vain. Desires began to be clothed in reality with the restoration. 200 years of God’s goodness to the world. We still have hopes that have not yet been fulfilled. When Covid-19 is gone, which it will be, may we conquer the virus of hunger and virus of poverty in the world. May our students be taught and not terrified that they’ll be shot. Hope for an addiction to be conquered. Hope for physical and emotional pain to cease. God does work in this world. We all need to believe that what we desire in righteousness that some day, somehow will be ours. We did not come this far to only come this far. This is the church of continuing revelation. This is the gospel of Christ’s unlimited grace and benevolence.
David A. Bednar
The word heart is used over 1,000 times in the standard works. Denotes the inner feelings of an individual. Defines who we are and what we’ll become. Changing, turning, and purifying hearts through gospel covenants and priesthood ordinances. The Lord works from the inside out. The world works from the outside in. Hear Him and have our own hearts changed through covenants and ordinances.
Israel, Israel, God is Calling
President Russell M. Nelson
The increasing darkness makes the light of Jesus Christ shine even brighter. Revelation continues to flow from the Lord. You and your family can be together forever. You can enjoy the constant companionship of the Holy Ghost. He will guide and protect you. You will never remain comfortless. God can help you. The adversary is clever. For millennia, he has been making evil look good and good look evil. God communicates simply, quietly, and with such stunning plainness that we can’t misunderstand Him. When we are surrounded by uncertainty, what will help most, is to hear His son. We will be guided to know what to do in any circumstance. It takes consistent effort to fill our daily lives with His words, teachings, and truths. Daily immersion in the word of God is critical in these days. Do whatever it takes to increase your spiritual capacity to receive personal revelation. Doing so will help you know how to move ahead with your life and how to avoid the temptations and deceptions of the adversary. The Restoration of the Fullness of Jesus Christ: A Bicentennial Proclamation to the World. All human beings are sons and daughters of a beautiful Father in heaven.
