Me

I’ve reached Onderland!

Two months down. This post is to report where I’m at with the goals I set for 2018 as well as highlight what I’ve been up to in the month of February.

Attend church. Get a temple recommend. Receive the Melchizedek priesthood. Go through the temple. Date. Read The Book of Mormon, The Bible, Doctrine & Covenants and the Pearl of Great Price.

100% attendance for all four Sundays this month. It was so hard getting myself to go the last two weeks. There were days where I wanted to just stay in bed and catch up on all of my shows. Why didn’t I just do that? Because I needed to hear something from someone’s talk or lesson. I needed to feel the spirit so I could make it through the work week. I can’t remember where I heard this, but someone said that it wasn’t easy for Christ, so it will not be easy for us. However, that’s a good thing! We all struggle, but we have to have an eternal perspective on our trials. I definitely struggled with some personal things this month, but I took comfort in the following quote: “You have not failed until you’ve quit trying.” -Gordon B. Hinckley

For my 2018 LDS Reading Challenge, I am currently in 2 Nephi 17, Numbers 1, Mark 7, D&C 28 and on the first Article of Faith.

Read at least one book a month.

The book for book club this month was A Wrinkle in Time by Madeleine L’Engle. “It was a dark and stormy night; Meg Murry, her small brother Charles Wallace, and her mother had come down to the kitchen for a midnight snack when they were upset by the arrival of a most disturbing stranger.”

I wanted to read this because… well, Oprah is in the upcoming movie. It was a weird book, but I’m excited to see how it plays out on the big screen.

Pay off my student loan.

Because of some car repairs, I was only able to pay $449.65 toward my loan this month. However, with the tax return that should be coming in mid-March, I will be able to pay it off mid-August instead of October!

Eat healthy (less eating out.) Exercise (at least three times a week).

The competition ends on Sunday, March 4th. Going into this last week, I am in first place, 0.44% above my dad. I haven’t had any soda this month and I haven’t gone to any fast food restaurants.

I hit my step goal of 11,000 steps a day 24 of the 28 days this month. The four days I missed were on Sunday’s. I worked out 21 of the 28 days this month.

My weight on February 1st was 215.4. I lost 15.9 pounds and now weigh 199.5. Ladies and gentleman… I’ve reached ONDERLAND! 4 more days left of the challenge. I am continuing with the challenge on my own after until I’ve reached my goal weight.
