Los Angeles Trip Research Findings
11 students have been selected to attend the PRSSA National Conference in Los Angeles representing Utah Valley University. I am one of them. I graduate in April and am very excited for this opportunity to learn from my fellow classmates and professionals in the field.
This post will be dedicated to learning more about the presenters, participating companies and people we plan to meet on the trip.
We have personal appointments set up to meet with Faith Tusieseina and Cori Fox. Faith lives in Santa Monica, California and works in Brand Partnerships – USA for Universal Music Group. Cori lives in the greater Los Angeles area and currently works on the digital team for American Idol Productions and Fox Studios.
Faith graduated from UVU in 2014 with a Bachelor of Arts in Communication and an emphasis in Public Relations. She has worked with professional athletes, assisted in production for events, and conducted a research project for the Communication Department Chair at UVU. She has been a Production Assistant for several clients including: Verizon, Exxon Mobil, Wells Fargo, Cisco, Intel and USPS.
I’m excited to meet Faith and was particularly excited researching what she has done while working at Katz Public Relations. She assisted in all publicity efforts to promote NBC, CBS and MTV talent. I look forward to hearing what she’s accomplished at Universal Music Group and to get advice on how to succeed after graduation.

When I changed my major from International Business to Communication with an emphasis in Public Relations (best decision ever), my friend Kylie mentioned Cori Fox’s name. She said she knew of Cori from UVU and that she moved to Los Angeles. Los Angeles is where I can see myself ending up and I’m very excited to be able to meet Cori, hear how she got to Los Angeles and any advice she may have.
After reading through Cori’s experience on her LinkedIn page, I was able to get a feel for how hard of a worker she is. There are multiple people who have commented stating how well she’s done at each job. She has worked as a Social Media and Marketing Intern for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, a Press Liason for the Sundance Institute and Production Assistant for Jimmy Kimmel Live! and Dancing With the Stars to name just a few. She now runs the website for the final season of American Idol.
